Date: 2020/05/09

In this lesson we take a look over the basic component that made up the LED Strip; the variety of LED strip and troubleshoot the common issue with LED strip with the after class workshop.

SUMMARY OF THE CLASS BELOW

LED strip basically consist of 4 component

  • The LED emitter, where the light come from

  • Cutline and connection, if you need to resize or extend the length of the LED strip

  • Electrical component

  • Adhesive backing

There is 2 varieties of input voltage that the stripe can have. There is the 12 V which have shorter interval between the cutline and connection, which the 24 V have a longer interval between the cutline and connection.
The 12 V LED stripe is great for short display and cabinet, since it is easier to find the desire length.
The 24 V while not as flexible as the 12 V is adjustment in length, but it is great for having a long length of the LED strip as it can uphold more vlotage for travel in the strip.

COMMON TROUBLESHOOT

PART OF THE STRIP IS NOT LIGHTING UP

There could be two issue at hand here:

  1. The LED strip electrical component is certain part is damage, resulting the rest of the strip is not working from the point of damage.
